While We Live Here…

Well my last post went in a little bit of a different direction and I don’t mean to sound so sad and gloomy when I refer to other countries who aren’t as fortunate as us.

Just like I promised towards the end, I am going to try and turn things around and brighten the mood up a little bit.

Back To Nature

I know that I have said it multiple times on here but I don’t think it can be said enough.

We really do have it great here in America and there is not a day that goes by where I don’t stop and take a moment to appreciate everything I have.

So I know that I mentioned how much I love nature and that here in America there are a lot more chances to appreciate it than my home country of Turkey. I am fortunate enough to be able to afford putting in some greenery in my yard and I have recently taken full advantage of it.

bushWell I took my own advice and did some research on some landscaping ideas from the link I posted to brighten my yard up a little bit. Now I really try not to spend too much money on aesthetic or materialistic things but I could not resist in this instance and hired some professionals at to come in and completely redo my front yard.

I almost feel guilty because of the fact that so many people around the world have real problems, but while I live here I am going to embrace every moment of it.

Having the option to hire professional tree cutting services is something that I could only have dreamed of as a kid. My parents never had the money to spend on luxuries like this so the fact that I have gotten to the point where I can is something that makes me so proud and humble. Plus, I avoided the risk of ruining my lawn with sharp tree trimming tools that I probably would have done if I tried to do it myself.

Sometimes I feel guilty, but I really can’t help myself when it comes to greening up my yard which is something I never could have done in my home country.

Although I don’t think I will ever be able to say that I enjoy American food over my native Turkish cuisine, there is another thing about living here that I did not get to enjoy as much in Turkey.

tree1Where I lived in Istanbul, it was very difficult to find a beautiful park or nature trail that we have so many of here in America. Although America definitely has its big cities and areas where nature and plant life are harder to find, you never have to go further than a few miles before you find some scenery or nature that is breath taking.

It was even more rare to find any sort of garden or plant life in your yard or neighborhood and the fact that we can have professional work done here is something I really enjoy and take advantage of. I don’t consider myself a hippie or anything like that, but I can’t help feel a sort of connection with nature and I try to embrace it as much as possible.

When I was a kid I used to love playing outside and I think that’s where a lot of my love of nature comes from. The vast majority of neighborhoods here in America have some sort of trees or gardens in their front yards and most of them are unique. Check this page out to get some ideas on what I mean if anyone out there is reading this outside of America.
